Great venue for this event and appreciate the efforts of Citizens for Dixie's Future to help facilitate this event to bring all together to celebrate these NCA's! Such wonderful lands we all should be proud to preserve and protect.

I personally invest in companies that are efficient in their use of resources. The problem with the Lake Powell Pipeline project is the State, Washington County, and the Water District have not really been efficient in their use of water. Before we spend Billions of dollars for Big Money Interests let's really learn to be good stewards of our current resources. We can sustain growth, have a green community and support a quality of life that understands that we live in a desert and can live within our means.

Why should all Utah consumers who pay sales taxes subsidize the construction of a massively expensive Lake Powell Pipeline to facilitate future development sprawl in Washington County where the Vision Dixie process determined that most county residents do not want such sprawl? And what's the rush to lock-in this multi-billion-dollar funding source when the draft studies on the proposed pipeline are not even finished, and the Draft Environmental Impact Statement probably won't be available for public review for another couple of years? I think that the answer to both questions is that local developers and land speculators are actually in charge, elected officials are doing their bidding, and they are counting on a gullible, docile public to not care until it is too late. If you like sprawl and higher taxes, you'll love the Lake Powell Pipeline!

The Lake Powell pipeline is an idea with no future. This idea makes no sense financially, environmentally, or any other way you wish to look at it. Washington County will liable to repay this tremendous sum for the construction and operation of this bad idea. There is no benefit to the residents of this county, but more and higher taxation. Is this a legacy you wish to leave your children and grandchildren? Please do not approve any financing plan for this mistake.

Please stop the Lake Powell Pipeline, the citizens of Southern Utah have never had a say in this huge expense and the debt that will be passed on for years. Spend the money on improving our education system. If this state is so great why do we rank so low in spending per student???

To all Utah Legislators -- There are much better solutions to the water issues of southern Utah. Those in charge have already spent huge amounts of money that could have been spent in other areas. This has been done without the consent of voters. As citizens we should be allowed a voice in issues that would cost all of us dearly in the future. Please stop the Lake Powell Pipeline. This project should have never been allowed without the consent of those who must bear the burden of paying for it. The money could better be spent on improving our education system.

STOP THE LAKE POWELL PIPELINE!!!! THIS IS THE MOST ABSURD IDEA THAT UTAH HAS HAD IN DECADES. IT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVASTATION OF OUR BEAUTIFUL NATURAL RESOURCES, AND BECOME YET ANOTHER FINANCIAL DEBACLE.

I COMMIT MY RESOURCES TO PUTTING INTO OFFICE INTELLIGENT LEGISLATORS WHO WILL STOP THIS RIDICULOUS VENTURE.

To Senator Anderson and Rep. Vickers,
Please do not allow a pipe line from lake powell to our area. Why are we not putting more efforts into conservation rather than spending millions to feed our water addiction?

My comment to legislators - This project is unnecessary and should be rejected by legislators. We have far more important issues on which to spend taxpayer dollars. Putting our money to work for a better future is what's needed. This project will, if not promote growth, facilitate growth, which will put additional demands on our state, county and cities infrastructure and governments. Growing more government is not the answer but will be the result of this project. Living within our means and dealing with the reality of being a desert community is what's needed. The state should be looking at other options for getting their remaining 100,000 af of water, if they see that as so important. Somethings "cost" too much and are not worth having in the long run. Please give this careful consideration and realize the burden it's placing on others. Increased property taxes are not what citizens need but will be what they get with this whether the state uses sales tax money to "loan" to the county or not. We will be on the hook for what the state leaders feel is their right to have. We will pay for that and should not have to. Not only will we pay out of our pockets - we will also pay from our "quality of life" account. Do not let "slick talkers" convince you. Do your homework.
